Ahead of forthcoming releases on legendary imprints Moving Shadow and Planet Mu, Etch brings us his latest album Strange Days. Known for his deconstructions of the scuzzier side of the many faces of the UK hardcore continuum, Etch strings elements of grime, jungle and the more pioneering sounds of early dubstep across eight heavyweight slabs. Striding across tempos throughout, Strange Days is threaded together with his trademark tight drum programming and careening basslines. Like his earlier work on labels like Sneaker Social Club, there’s a strong ‘second room at the rave’ vibe to this - unforgivingly sparse in parts, but always killer.
