Ed and Tom Russell (individually Tessela and Truss) are Overmono, one of the most exciting and in-demand acts in UK dance music. They say they found their sound on this record for the legendary label, XL, which is a headsy take on rave euphoria and the afterglow that follows. Everything U Need guides you through the full range of emotions, starting with bold, oversized melodies on the title track and ‘Aero,’ then dipping into finely diced breakbeats on ‘Clipper’ and a more downbeat turn on ‘Verbosa’. All together, the four tracks crystallise the Overmono vision into a superbly-realised, DJ friendly package which will be behind many a goosebumps moment on the dance floor. Rollo Jackson’s artwork deserves a special mention too.
