Occupying the space between retro, acid-reflux electro and pulpy sci-fi is Cyan85, who here emerges on Voitax with his first full-length. But don’t be fooled by the 1970s-influenced artwork; Lucid Intervals is one of the most forward-facing electro LPs we’ve heard in a while. The cybernetic soundscape of ‘Low Frequency Phantasy’ and ‘Strangelet Research Lab’ is coupled with an eerily human pulse, as ‘Elektro 0ffens1ve’ and ‘Time Elapsed’ side-step genre clichés with a softer synth undercurrent to complement its hefty bass sequencing.
