Information continues to be limited on the Withhold project, and like the other releases in the series WITHHOLD 007 comes to us from an unknown artist. However, this EP is one of those records which is strong enough to get by on the strength of its material alone, serving up a darkside melange of acidic basslines, electro sensibilities and early rave breakbeats. The likes of Luke Vibert, Jerome Hill and Altern 8 spring to mind when listening to these squiggling party tools. Most of the tracks of WITHHOLD 007 scurry along at around 130 bpm, though ‘Intoxicating B-Line’ runs closer to jungle tempo.
