The Withold series cracks into its fifteenth edition with a two track plate of early nineties, early morning rollers very much in keeping with the labels sonic ethos. This time however, we’re granted a brief breather from the front left stack and lulled into the backseat of the car home or the sofa at the afters. Both more drawn out and expansive than the last few records, the A1 centres around the gentle, unhurried interplay of pad & clean synthesiser melodies with the trademark breaks hanging back. B1 takes affairs even deeper, with a subtly automated chord refrain taking centre stage.
