Olan Monk delivers a set of Gothic electronic pop on his new LP Love/Dead. The immediate comparison that one thinks of when listening to this record is with Suicide, what with the uncompromising synth work and Olan Monk’s imperious vocals. However, there is also plenty of The D.A.F. and Cabaret Voltaire to this thing as well as the more modern invocations of Sacred Bones acts like Blanck Mass and Zola Jesus.
