On the Swamp 2 Sea EP, 60 Miles combine the classic chunky drum-machine grooves of Chicago house with some rather more textural production than what one finds on Frankie Knuckles records. Indeed, the way in which thoughtful and soulful samples are nudged along on tracks such as ‘Cadillac’ and ‘Happenin Doin’ has more in common with modern-day acts such as Romare and Moomin. There is also a little Jan Jelinek to Swamp 2 Sea’s closing cut ‘Arcade’.
