Síntesis de Fricción, Tomás Urquieta’s first EP in a couple of years, slams together a variety of electronic sounds with a sensibility derived from punk and industrial music. As such, the tracks sit on the border of both club music and its deconstructions - the title-track, for instance, stumbles forward on huge kick drums and oscillating percussion in a manner not dissimilar to Ziur, while the way closer ‘Cérifo’ warps between sombre pianos to digital-overload synthscapes recalls early Arca.
