Having collaborated with musicians from across Vietnam and the African continent, Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik aka Red Axes turn to India for the third instalment of their Trips series. Just as the previous releases crafted a wealth of infectious rhythms alongside local musicians, Trips #3: India sees the duo spin a host of new house-inflected beats from sitars, tablas, Indian cellos and harmoniums. ‘Pad Yoga Raga’ sets the mood with a meditative flute invocation — which bears more than a passing resemblance to an early Kraftwerk song — while ‘Mumbai Syndrom’ sets the tone at an electro-charged bhangra dance music style.
