Pyramids debut album is one of those records we always hoped would happen and was almost inevitable in the wake of bands like Jesu.

This is very metal, shoegaze, psychedelic metal mixed with the blistering full-pelt apocalyptic ambience of black metal, and a strange 50's b movie feeling. It's an almost perfect mix of the hazy psychedelic bliss, especially on airy heady tracks like Sleds and the echo of something lovely, that also tear off into disappear into brutal disorientating freeform darkness, with brutal machine gun drumming, on tracks like 'Hellmonk' and 'Monks'.

Special stuff, and special enough to warrant a second cd of mixes from the likes of Birchville cat motel, Jesu, James Plotkin, Lustmord and others.
