Indeed, while Rhythm Baboon might call Gdansk home this producer very much has the spirit of Chicago in him – so much so that he has received the seal of approval from Teklife’s DJ Earl, who mixed the whole of the W-Life EP. While some of the tracks here balance graceful chord progressions with limber bass programming in the same manner as the best DJ Rashad joints, some of the other tunes have a looser, more immediate juke sensibility about them - the alien-transmission title-track, for instance.
