Elena Colombi’s new Osàre! Editions imprint kicks off with King Of Snake, a new EP from two-piece Free Range. This is an idiosyncratic set of electronic productions, one that veers between styles without ever fully subscribing to a genre. While there is the solemnity of minimal synth to lo-fi entries like ‘Translucent Ashtray’ and ‘Home Security System’, ‘Toyota Mirror’ and ‘Washing Machine Speaking’ nod to Detroit techno and ambient house in their humid, propulsive beats. If Osàre! Editions continue down this path then we can file the label next to Editions Gravats, Antinote and Stroom.
