Stranger Things composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein turn their attention to the cosmos on Spheres. The music they’ve come up with here was made to accompany a VR experience that ran at New York City’s Rockefeller Centre early in 2019. Their brief was to recreate the sound of travelling into a black hole - no biggie, guys. Dixon and Stein rose to the challenge to turn in some of their most deft and impressive work yet. A mix of whirring synthesisers, proggy keyboards and deep-space drones, Spheres draws from the likes of William Basinski, György Ligeti and Klaus Schulze.
