The Body certainly have been busy of late. With copies May’s I Have Fought Against It, But I Can’t Any Longer. still warm from the pressing plant, the band’s latest effort is a collaboration with former tour buddies Uniform. With The Body providing beats and Uniform dubbing over guitars and synth bass lines, the resulting record is a bracing mix of power electronics, noise rock, doom metal and industrial techniques. Most of the LP is subsumed under heavy waves of distortion that give it a feel similar to some early Posh Isolation releases. This means that any bursts of melody, guitar, or vocal that make it to the surface come across like voices rising up from hell before being pushed back under. Bracing stuff.
