In preparation for the drop of Ben Vince’s next LP - set to feature Micachu and Rupert Clervaux - the saxophonist has teamed up with serial club-botherer Joy Orbison for this two-track on Hessle. Featuring edited studio jams as well as manipulations of some earlier recordings by Vince, ‘Transitions 2’ and ‘Systems Align’ are club jams that do a good job of balancing the pair’s experimental tendencies with serious dancefloor intent. The sound that the pair end up with here makes one think of what would happen if you put MJ Cole’s ‘Sincere’, !!!’s ‘Me And Giuliani Down By The Schoolyard’ and Radiohead’s ‘The National Anthem’ in a blender.
