Bleep's artist of 2014 turns in a fresh riot of sound for the mighty XL Recordings, having been spun on dubplate by all the right people and a white label being teased on Instagram, the wait is finally over. 'Sylvester Stallone' finally lands on wax, picking up where Ancient Methods Club Music remixes left off, starting off with a wall of noise build up before exploding into a dry, tough 'n' tumble drum an bone flex with Powell's signature post-punk drumz and wasp synth lines buzzing about like a hive of angry digital bees being smashed with a wooden mallet. On the flip the cheekily titled 'Smut' continues the chaos with a galloping riddim' and some crafty 303 acid lines streamlining into view like a dream collab between Hardfloor and Haswell; filthy.

Clone continue their extensive research into the deep underwater world of Drexciya and their various shadowy transformations with this timely reissue of the classic and long out of print Der Zyklus LP Biometry produced by Heinrich Mueller. Moving away from the more dancefloor-focused tracks of previous Der Zyklus releases, Biometry finds Mueller in a contemplative mood, crafting more abstract and industrial rooted electro pieces that focus more on the mind than the floor. There is an ever-growing feeling throughout that things could dive into darker waters at any second as found on Polar Coordinates which could be lifted from AFX's Analord series which started life a few months after the release of Biometry leaving us to wonder if the two were in communication around this time or if they both came to produce similar strains of innovative moody and despondent material via different unconnected means. There are all the trademarks of the classic Drexciyan sound throughout as with the under sea disturbances found within Iris/Retinal Scanning or Eigenface (Facial Asymetry) which could be easily be a dub mix of Wavejumper as reissued in the Aqualung series. Biometry is the nighttime soundtrack to follow days spent lounging in the Laptop Café and is another unforgettable piece in the Drexciya puzzle that upon hearing will leave you gasping for air and a little closer to uncovering the secrets deep within the mysterious aquatic world of Drexciya.

Techno wizard Koehler teams up with fellow Berliner and Terminal co-founder Kuno for the killer single 'Anti Gravity Switch'. It marks Koehler's return to Berceuse Heroique after his mesmerising Dynasty EP for the London label - which continues to strengthen its reputation for anything-but-bland techno releases. It almost feels as if Koehler and Kuno are keeping their creaking acid synth sound from exploding into the usual madness of arpeggios, just granting the occasional higher pitched outbreak. They put the focus on the metallic parts of the drum kit, crafting scratchy textures. Dutchman David Huismans takes on remix duties and plays with off-beat aesthetics, sprinkling the original's acid pattern as the casual garnish.

A return to form for Sleeparchive delivering an EP of arctic techno for MORD. Following two 12"s for Tresor that were more inline with the hardened blackest ever black techno of classic Regis and Female, the Senza Titolo EP recalls early Sleeparchive 12"s like Elephant Island, proper gear where the Sahko indebted delicate glass laden chords shuffle over frozen borders of hypnotic rolling metal machine music drums. Basically its four tracks here of proper techno, one for the up all night crew.

Three instalments of squelchy acid mayhem from Cologne’s Andreas Gehm via the Bristol-based Happy Skull imprint. His growing reputation on the continent comes from tearing up nightspots as well as putting out a slew of top-tier releases for other imprints. Yes Or No is no exception. Moving from the jacking depth of the title track to the slightly less chaotic tones of Summer Time in Coloniae before a cacophony of drum machine oscillations lead the way on Going By. It is a varied but consistent release that will only add to Gehm’s snowballing fanbase.

Sheffield electro label Central Processing Unit welcome London Modular Alliance’s own Gavin Pykerman with his Koova project. Following previous efforts for Abstract Forms and Brokntoys, This Is Not My Future sits well within the CPU roster. Pykerman’s love for modular sounds becomes apparent throughout his oldschool tunes: ‘Retro Transformer’ deploys a sci-fi theme, and on the title track, robotic voices from the 70s pipe up over one-dimensional string synths. ‘Distant’ is a misleadingly foreboding affair that explodes in the boom of ‘In Search Of’, the EP's truly funky highlight.

Conceptual collaborative imprint Brothers loads up its eighth edition, this time pitting The Trilogy Tapes affiliate Eomac against Rory St John on the A-side and Bristol-based Joefarr with Which on the other. Eomac & Rory St John deliver ‘Crack & Chop’, a bristly, electro-informed techno stepper with a slew of overdriven elements and rattling percussion. Things boil over on the flip with ‘Perihelion’, a hazardous, full-bodied onslaught engineered for the most hardened crowd.
