The debut album from the wonderful Jon Hassell and the one that prompted the ‘fourth world’ principle, a futuristic musical form which he went on to explore fully with Brian Eno. Timeless organic music that can function on many different levels - be it soundtracking early morning yoga, post-work unwinding or drug induced psychoactive sessions. Arguably not as accomplished as some of his later albums but without a doubt the most inventive in Lovely Music’s rich back catalogue (and that’s saying a lot). All time favourites like ‘Blues Nile’ and ‘Viva Shona’ still shine as brightly as ever – essential.
