The Scottish composer shares a 21 minute piece that was recently commissioned by Amsterdam’s Oude Kerk church complex. Armed with a vintage organ, cello and electronics Singer glides through her performance with a level of emotional depth that is tangible even in the recording alone. Essentially learning the organ over a series of late night winter visits to the church, Singer seems to have grasped the potential of the instrument very quickly. ‘Fairge’ is more than at home at Touch.
