Loves a play on words, does old Ghostpoet. Unsurprising really - over the course of three LPs the London MC has proven himself to be one of the UK’s most inventive wordsmiths. Now with fourth album Dark Days + Canapes it seems that the one born Obaro Ejimiwe has grown into his role as arguably the UK’s most unique hip-hop act to emerge since Roots Manuva. There’s a strong trip-hop flavour to the record - Massive Attack’s Daddy G even guests on ‘Woe Is Meee’. Dark Days + Canapes proves that Ghostpoet merits the comparisons with Tricky, Portishead et al.
