Pangaea indulges in a hearty bit of rave nostalgia here. Both tracks are reworkings of early club classics, respectively Nomad’s ‘I Wanna Give You Devotion’ and Loleatta Holloway’s ‘Stand Up’. The former, originally a low-slung bit of acid-rap, is perked up considerably in Pangaea’s hands. He deftly combines an ‘Amen’ break, the original’s tender vocal hook and some propulsive drum tracking to create a soulful slice of throwback house. The ‘Stand Up’ remix is altogether stranger. Vocals skitter around the speakers over a sparse groove in a manner more obviously indebted to Pangaea’s own Hessle Audio releases. Out via his own Hadal imprint.
