Dance music giants !K7 present one of the most interesting label projects in a while, an album of prepared piano compositions from house heavyweight Henrik Schwarz. Sounding like G.I. Gurdjieff meets Deutsch Grammaphon, this new work is a stark departure from the man previously recognised for his ability to craft dance pop hits (his remix of Omar’s ‘Feeling You’ is a prime example). Schwarz uses the Yamaha Disklavier as his foundation for Works Piano and skews the original sound via post production and digital recording technologies. Apparently the first in a series of modern classical releases due on !K7 later in the year!
