Ahh, Omar S. So often do his tracks sound timeless even on first listen. This latest offering, cut with LA chanteuse Nite Jewel, is another in the long line of S’s soulful, sexy jams. ‘Confess To U’ is impeccably crafted, with the producer’s tough-but-tender Sunset strip production dovetailing with the Janet Jackson-aping vocal. On the flip, the ‘Three Strooges of Hamtramck’ mix bulks out the beat and brings in a cheeky lick of saxophone at the back end.
