The multi-talented Alessandro Cortini of NIN and Slumberman teams up with Japanese noise legend Merzbow for a heavy session of warped EMS Synthi material. Famous for its insane sound palette and patch matrix, the Synthi is a popular yet hard to come by choice for the travelling experimentalist and old school heads like Iueke (Antinote) are known for combining it with rusty old drum machines. However, Cortini and Merzbow opt for full throttle noise endeavours and the twenty minute closer ‘MCAA’ manages to walk the fine line between terrifying and enthralling. Interesting stuff, Synthi geek or not!
