Title track ‘The Ground’ bops along steadily with bouncing bassline and kicks, while chords stab persistently around the summery melodic lines and wistful vocals. Joris Voorn’s remix fills the voids with hanging chords and filters up the vocal for a more night time feel. ‘Going Against The Grain’ is the most chugging of the trio, the vocals delivered with a sense of urgency and determination. The release is reminiscent of some of Innervisions and Sonar Kollective’s output, in its warm, enveloping and distinctly European charm.
