Philadelphia noise patron Robert Francisco aka M ax Noi Mach dredges up for a full-length assault of shrouded industrial atrocities for Helm’s respected Alter imprint with On The Edge. Strewn across the eight callous cuts, Francisco refuses to dilute his callous, unremitting concoction of biting industrial filth and doomsday vocals. Yet, occasionally the American strips back to reveal a more primordial, sinister aesthetic, such as on the looped-out, dub-driven rubble of ‘Tender Sin’ and the ritualistic, voodoo influenced ‘Voodoo Child’ with its overlapped Tibetan Buddhist-leaning chants inducing hallucinatory state of consciousness.
