Vermont duo Harmonizer makes their vinyl EP debut with the World Complete 12” coming via Daniel Lopatin’s prized Mexican Summer spin off Software. The release builds upon the daydream, pastoral textures of their debut, self-titled cassette on NNA tapes, here painting vast swathes of astral colour mixed with indigenous instrumentation resulting in a heady clash of ambient, new-age and world-music styles. Opener ‘Landmine’ forges shimmering, crystalline synth notes to deep, ritualistic drumming, followed by the scattered handclaps and panning ambient fizz of ‘Derbeda’. Turning over, ‘Cloud Bank’ is much softer, engaging the third eye in a divine floating expanse that leads into the more vigorous drumming session of the title piece ‘World Complete’. A truly enlightened works, highly recommend for fans of Laraaji’s celestial zither output, Kundalini meditational music and Jon Hassell at his most expansive.
