Trans-Atlantic dance music imprint Life and Death lines up a glittering cast of big name production talent for this four-track EP of rugged techno dynamics. First out of the blocks is Andy Graham a.k.a Sei A, veteran of the European techno scene with previous on Aus Music, Turbo Recordings, Simple Records and now Life and Death. His contribution is all heaving sub-pressure and menace, offset by a gleaming chime melody that plays at counterpoint, never far away. Belgian star Locked Groove (Hotflush, Just This) and his ‘Eleven’ is all shuffling scynopation and soaring pads while Scuba’s ‘Glacial’ is responsible for woofer-troubling lower end and finally German producer Alex.Do lightens the gloomy warehouse mood with a track called ‘Rising’ which does exactly that.
