Four years after the split EP of Grenadian artists Adrian Lenx and Sandman inaugurated Sam Purcell's now flourishing Blank Mind imprint, the label presents four reworks of the original material. Cover Me / No Prisoner took inspiration from the jab jab tradition - a masquerade connected to the carnival of the Caribbean island, and this lives on in the remixes by Detroit’s Anthony Shake Shakir, duo Alan Johnson and Italic regular Harmonious Thelonious. Anthony Shake Shakir buries Adrian Lenz' 'Cover Me' under layers of howling wind, whereas Sandman's 'No Prisoner' undergoes a wonky dubstep treatment by Alan Johnson, and a whistling and drumming house makeover by Harmonious Thelonious, underpinning the Grenadian roots of the original.
