After outings on Grizzly and Girls Music, UK producer Melé fires up his bass productions with a heavy dose of South American carnival drumming on his debut for Redlight’s Lobster Boy imprint: The single conjures up infectious cowbell rhythms over animating, celebratory mood vocals drenched in reverb. The B side carries on within the trajectory of moving percussion, but lays open Melé’s bass background more clearly when splashes of creaking subs work their way through the surface.
