More meditative dance music from the Vancouver forge of quality house music that is Mood Hut: Pender Street Steppers, the duo of Jack Juston and Liam Butler, resurface with their second EP for the label. Following a 12’’ for Washington’s Peoples Potential Unlimited and Jutson’s killer solo outing ‘Looking Forward To You’ on Mood Hut, The Glass City / Golden Garden devotes itself to the trademark ingredients that make their productions so enjoyable: on the A side, their dusty, but well-cushioned percussive elements come into the limelight over atmospheric Fender Rhodes chords and soft trumpet playing. ‘Golden Garden’ takes things to the chill area with its unhurried tempo and slowly grooving bass line, the pan flute melody musicking a peaceful paradise, a recreative sonic retreat.
