Local Artist returns to his own label Mood Hut for his debut LP Expanding Horizons. A noticeable departure for the more dancefloor-oriented work Ian Wyatt has dropped under the Local Artist moniker, Expanding Horizons is far more concerned with grief. A solemn tribute to both his father and partner, the LP is brimming with loss and hard-earned pleas to enjoy life. Tracks like ‘Without You’ and practically reach out of the speaker to console, while the soapy bubbles and ambient synths on mid-album ‘Self-Healing’ offer a gentle respite.
