Previously releasing the likes of Wanda Group, Nadia Khan and the astoundingly good BLUES DANCES from Beatrice Dillon, Where To Now? returns with a new LP from Eugene Ward aka Trilogy Tapes staple Dro Carey/Tuff Sherm. With tracks taken from a series of performance collaborations with choreographer Patric Kuo over a 5 month period, PAINT EN POINT is a beautifully arrange selection of experimental dance tracks fused with Wards usual house and techno output. The EP kicks off with ‘Place (Duet)’ a glitchy, underwater-sounding affair whilst the standout track ‘Somnium (Group)’ forms a beat created out of Rahzel-style beatboxing and a cappella. Other highlights include the heavy bassline in ‘Place Solo’ and the warped, echoing, and rhythmically complex ‘Tectonic Effect (Group)’.
