Australian producer Dro Carey showcases both of his pseudonyms on the latest run out for Sydney-based imprint Templar Sound. First up, the Trilogy Tapes associated Tuff Sherm delivers ‘Scope’, rolling out a quaking percussive entourage and a vocal that’ll be in your head for weeks. ‘Prime Engine’ is also attributed to Tuff Sherm and is an unhurried configuration of bulky machine jack laced with EBM synth patterns whilst the brain-warp textures of ‘Human Parcel’ sees the Australia revert to his own namesake for a more techno-orientated affair. Finally, Night Slugs man Helix dons his DJ Vague guise and offers a more straightforward take on ‘Human Parcel’, with a cavernous kick drum colliding with a frazzled clap and tinny hi-hats for maximum effect.
