From Slime, futurist grime producer Threnody stakes his claim with his impressive debut LP. No simple crafter of hot loops, the UK creator lives up to his name, creating introspective tracks that teem with atmosphere. There’s loads of low end, of course, especially on stark single ‘Envy’, the primitive, throbbing ‘Tribal’ and the dodgy, paranoiac ‘Depth’. However, it’s when Threnody opts for ambience, like on opener ‘Fractured 2’ and the connective Lacuna interludes, that he separates himself from the pack and truly makes a name for himself.
