Imagine trudging through an archive and coming across this golden slice of techno heraldry. Lifted from such a finding — an Acetate cut by Derrick May from around 1987 — it’s a wonder that it took so many decades to pass for Mayday’s The Darkside to see the light of day. Ridiculously hard to find ever since, these two lost classics of early house appear once so that their minimal splendor can be enjoyed by all who hear them.
