Scuba welcomes a new recruit to his Hotflush label: UK producer Auden. His self-titled debut EP serves a statement of intent, showcasing a range of styles: from haunting ambient opener ‘Trip to Fade’ to techno roller ‘Flux’. On ‘Whispers’, a revolving acid synth line is interwoven through a backing of rimshots and pulsating bass. ’Tension’, continues on from ‘Trip to Fade’, playing with a discomfiting vocal sample, together with clattering percussion, to build a dense and claustrophobic atmosphere. A promising introduction.
