Born Bad, specialists in all things quirky, obscure and French, dig up another little known treat from Saint-Etienne four piece Cha Cha Guitri. Originally released on cassette in 1981, French Synth Wave was recorded at home by four rather carefree high school friends with a newly acquired collection of vintage synthesizers and an infectious joie de vivre. Their sound incorporates minimal synth explorations, naïve male/female vocals, robotic kraut-grooves and hints of tropicália, all filtered through a vibrant, sweet, undeniably French prism.
