Spectral Sound, an offshoot of the excellent Ghostly International Label, presents a new album from UK producer Mark E whose grinding, heavy sound is inspired by the Midlands. Judging from lead single ‘Bog Dance’, where the producer meshes a weighty jack with more wide-eyed 8-bit arpeggios and airy synth washes, ‘Product Of Industry’ promises to be a treat. It is Mark E’s combination of dark, rough grooves with soulful melodic lines which equally impresses on ‘Being Hiding’, which employs some perfectly-placed house piano stabs and a searing Jamie Lidell-esque vocal.
