Following a lengthy nomadic stint as both a DJ and producer, British musician Matt Karmil expands on his successful PNN Records debut with a full length entitled ----. Beginning with the distilled pulse of ‘Open’ Karmil sets a hypnotic tone with things diving even deeper on the atmospheric ‘Sinkhole’ and the smothered house shuffler ‘It’s Rough’. ‘Live The Deep’ represents a more direct approach, laying down a repetitive groove on layers of hiss and the odd stray blissful chord whereas the dub-disco vibes of ‘Frankrike (Float)’ and submerged drive of ‘Wow (And Flutter)’ resemble something right out of Efdemin’s or NWAQ’s locker.
