Bryan Barton lands on familiar outpost Electric Deluxe as his Black Asteroid project with the Metal EP backed by a pair of remixes by LA native Luis Flores and Pinion. The driving ‘Metal’ is off first, pairing a pummelling stomp with waves of unrelenting hiss, followed by the crushing ‘Turbine’ with its mutating, metallic distortion. Luis Flores AKA Truncate provides his take on ‘Metal’ on the B-side – a typically functioning techno endeavour that’s aimed squarely at the 5am basement crowd whilst Pinion’s brooding interpretation is a broken piece of dystopian noise.
