Kowton, Dark Sky and Bonobo step up on remix duties for Mary Jane Coles’ EP ‘Don’t Put Me In Your Box’ on the Hypercolour imprint. Kowton’s contribution is surprising, with all the hard-edged grime attacks of his characteristic percussion slightly softened into a rolling house number, which even has traces of the original’s synths to warm things up further. Dark Sky and Bonobo both take on ‘Something In The Air’, with the former making some beautifully unpredictable bass swoops cut through thudding beats, and Bonobo creating the kind of luxurious, soulful cut for which the producer is so revered.
