Baltimore artist Max Eilbacher - who has in the past worked with Matmos and Horse Lords - releases his debut album on Spectrum Spools. It's a mind-bending palette of glitching sounds and field recordings that sound like they are coming apart at the seams, never an entirely comfortable listen, but some how in its maze-like twists and turns, oddly engaging. Towards the end of the first segment, steady synthetic arpeggiations begin to break through the crackling noise, contributing a moment of melodic respite. '(Intro) / Geetar / No Room For Breathing / Rail Trax' is more abrasive, leaving behind the contemplative twitching of the first track for a darker approach to sound design.
