JPEGMAFIA turns down an introspective lane without ever losing his bite on his third album All My Heroes Are Cornballs. With a clearer, crisper vision, yet even more fried and confrontational, Peggy shows himself to be an expert in juxtaposition, lambasting the internet opposition on ‘Beta Male Strategies’ while chiptune-esque synth flourishes bring the light on the title track. Lightning strike shots of noise and distorted bass rub against the jazzy piano notes of ‘Jesus Forgive Me, I Am A Thot’, opening a more personal, reflective record where Peggy explores his relationship with violence over the deceptively idyllic, guitar led ‘Grimy Waifu’.
