Freddie Gibbs’ ESGN brings a mid-period classic back to vinyl for the first time since its release with this reissue of his third LP You Only Live 2wice. Born from a period of grief and personal strife, Gibbs re-imagines himself as a Christ-like figure on the evocative album cover, rising up from a dark period with a newfound strength and purpose. The concept is met head on in the music, an incisive and featureless collection of soul baring lyricism hemmed in by tough, but fervent production BADBADNOTGOOD, Kaytranada, and Dupri among others.
