Expanding her selection of producers and sounds, John Glacier signs to Young for her latest release Like A Ribbon. The scuzzy, amplified post-punk guitars and stutters of ‘Satellites’ completely flip the digital hazy beats of 2021’s SHILOH: Lost For Words, showing Glacier’s nonchalant, unstoppable flow to be at home on any instrumental she chooses. Flume, Kwes Darko, and previous collaborator Vegyn provide an update to Glacier’s raw punk attitude and icy self confidence with euphoric synths, sloshing drum beats, and distorted shots of rhythmic strums, met by sweet and subtle vocal additions from Eartheater that fill the spaces in between.
