The reissues of NY art/literature group Lansing-Dreiden have been a labour of love for cult label Mexican Summer, who here present the band’s 2006 sophomore LP. Comparisons to ‘Incomplete Traingle’ were inevitable but ‘Island’ pushed the boat out even further, with skuzzy Jan Hammer sounds on ‘Two Extremes’, swooning beach disco and tales of comradeship on ‘One For All’ and dark clanking organs on the title track. All of it comes on delicious gatefold vinyl.
