Cross My Heart Hope to Die is Andrew Kline and Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs. Don’t expect frat boy hip-hop: this EP is closer in style to the West coast dubstep/jazz Muggs has recently been experimenting with. Lead track ‘Wild Side’ is Motown-tinged soul set to a rolling beat and horn section - think Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ with street swagger. B-sides ‘Lover’ and ‘Miracles’ serve up scuzzy Shirley Bassey sounds, while ‘Roller Coaster’ sounds like a horror movie score where the killer likes to beatbox.
