West London’s Cleo Sol returns to the Forever Living Originals label for her latest LP entitled Heaven. Straying not too far from the classicist neo-soul vibe of her prior Forever Living Originals efforts, Heaven is more natural refinement than radical departure and all the better for it. Small embellishments like the birdsong on ‘Golden Child (Jealous)’ and the tape hiss on the introspective piano ballad ‘Old Friends’ lend the album a looser, more spontaneous vibe that draws even more emotion out of Cleo Sol’s casually evocative voice.
