Leaning more towards the stoner rock end of the sonic spectrum than some of their more abstract efforts, Heavy Rocks nonetheless bears that unmistakably nasty Boris effect, as tracks like ‘Heavy Friends’ and ‘1970’ could detonate any kind of system with ease. Jack White’s Third Man Records has pulled yet another gem out with this release of Japanese noise rock combo Boris’ 2002 debut LP Heavy Rocks.
