Keiji Haino, Stephen O’Malley & Oren Ambarchi come together in an unholy alliance of minds for 'The Most Painful Time Happens Only Once Has It Arrived Already..?' Following O’Malley's recent nightmarish collab with Scott Walker here he journeys towards the light (slightly) with Keiji Haino & Oren Ambarchi to record four pieces of experimental doom metal with a slice of apocalyptic chaos on the side. The true highlight of the LP has to be 'You Should Look Closely Those Shattered Spells Never Attaining Embodiment as Prayer They Are Born Here Again' which clocks in at 18mins and features some fine heavy metal guitars ricocheting up against the heaviest heavy metal drums this side of Birmingham before the track breaks down into an almost Julian Cope era 'Fried' demented breakdown before fading into dusk.
